Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 in Florida. A properly built, permitted tiki hut is engineered for wind โ but a little prep each year helps.
Before the season starts, walk around your hut and check: Is the thatch still tight and secure? Are any binding wires loose or missing? Are the posts still plumb and solid at ground level? Remove any loose items from under and around the structure so they can't become projectiles.
If you see loose thatch, sagging, or damaged framing, call us for a repair assessment. We can re-thatch, reinforce, or repair so your hut is in good shape before the first storm. After a storm, inspect again before using the space; if anything looks off, we're here to help. Our care guide has more detail on maintenance and owner responsibilities.
